Pallavi Eswara is the Director for Postdoctoral Affairs, where she will oversee the professional and career development of postdoctoral associates and fellows. She creates, coordinates and executes a curriculum around professional development for postdoctoral associates and fellows to complement and support their training at BU, and prepare them to make career choices. She is also responsible for operations and administrative aspects of postdoc training at BU. Pallavi is an elected member on the Executive Committee of Graduate Career Consortium and has served in leadership roles at the National Postdoc Association.

Pallavi joined the Professional Development & Postdoctoral Affairs team in June 2022, after a short stint at Northeastern University. She worked extensively in postdoctoral affairs at the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, including as the Director for the office from 2016 to 2021. She was the founding staff member and created the office, initiated and led various professional development programs for postdoctoral researchers in STEM, humanities and social sciences, led the review of postdoctoral policy and built a supporting community for postdocs. She was the campus lead for multi-PI grants through Big Ten Academic Alliance for advancing underrepresented minority postdocs in STEM disciplines. Pallavi received a Masters degree in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan, did research both at the bench and in bioinformatics with publications in peer reviewed journals. Her initial education was in India, where she received a Masters in Biotechnology and a Bachelors in genetics, Botany and Chemistry.
