Rashmi Raj, PhD

Postdoc Academy Intern, Northwestern University

Rashmi Raj is a postdoc in the Chemical and Biological Engineering department at Northwestern University focusing on metabolic engineering to modulate bacterial stress response and optimize synthetic biochemical production. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the National University of Singapore and her Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from University College London before joining Northwestern University in March 2020 and the Postdoc Academy in March 2021.

After becoming involved with the Northwestern University Postdoctoral Association, she became invested in engaging postdocs in professional development and community building. As an intern with the Postdoc Academy, she is excited to be involved in workshop facilitation, assisting in course development and network building amongst the Chicagoland institutions.
